International Association of Athletics Federations

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics. It was founded on 17 July 1912 at its first congress in Stockholm, Sweden by representatives from 17 national athletics federations as theInternational Amateur Athletics Federation. Since October 1993 it has been headquartered in Monaco.


The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races

The Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, also known as AIMS, is an association of long-distance running races. Originally founded in 1982 at a meeting in London of marathon race directors, its membership was extended in 1986 to include all road races. In June 2009 over 270 race organisations were members.



European Athletics Championships

The European Athletics Championships is an event organized by the European Athletic Association. It traditionally occurred every four years but since 2010 has been organised every two years. When the games are held in the same year as Summer Olympics, no marathon and racewalking events are contested.



The Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon

The Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon is an annual spring marathon and the largest and most prestigious sporting event to take place in Israel. 

35,000 runners are expected to participate in the upcoming race.  

The event on March 15th 2013 will offer runners the following courses: Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km Race, 10% Race - 4.2km, Inline Skating and Hand Cycle Race.

This running experience takes place throughout the fantastic city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, one of the top ten cities to visit in the world.
